We know know who will be leaving next. It would seem our adoption number 17 is going to be Miss Rebecca. Here is a letter from her family who will probably travel early in January to come and get her.
I wanted to take a minute to introduce our family. We are Brian & Carolin Hunter and have been married for almost 14 years now. We reside in Louisville, Kentucky and have two children, Ryan who will soon be 11 and Emma is 4 ½, however they both think they are much older than they are. We are most excited about adding a new daughter to our family and we have been blessed with being able to adopt one of the precious Starfish babies, Rebecca! She is such a darling and absolutely stole our hearts from the first moment we laid eyes on her!
We absolutely can not wait to get there and have her become a forever member of our family! Also, I did want to let you know that we are keeping her name as Rebecca. I just can't imagine calling her by anything else because that name just fits her perfectly.
We adopted our daughter Emma in May of 2005 and that September is when we first started talking about adopting again but were told we had to be home with our daughter for a year before we could adopt again. We started paper chasing in February of 2006 but were not logged in until July of that year. We then changed over to the special needs process earlier this year & have been blessed beyond measure to be matched with Rebecca.
I've read so much about Starfish and have had the pleasure of crossing cyber paths with many people who have either adopted from your home or who have been there to volunteer. Everyone I have talked to has the kindest things to say about Amanda & her children. Several have passed along pictures that they have of Rebecca from when they were there volunteering and we have treasured every one we have received. The icing on the cake though was the absolutely adorable scrapbook that was made by one of your volunteers, Virginia! WOW! You can just see the love and attention she put into making it! We have also really enjoyed receiving tidbits here and there of her spunky little personality. She sounds like a perfect fit for the Hunter family!
We hope to be in China soon!!!
Blessings,
Brian, Carolin, Ryan & Emma Hunter
p.s. I've attached a family picture as well. Sorry for it being one of the formal type ones because that doesn't really give you a sense of our family but typically I'm on the other end of the camera and subsequently I have lots of the kiddos but not very many of us!
The most interesting thing for the Chinese is the fact that Carlin works for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kentucky. Every one in China understands KFC.
Life, Love and Laughter,
Amanda
