Amanda's Chinese New Year Interview

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dye0_dQf2Dg

My very first Chinese interview was done for this program called Hello Ni Hao in early 2006. Five years went by and they asked me to do another interview which lasted two hours. From that, they came up with this 15 minutes.  I was amused that they focused so much on my sleeping habits. It is really weird to see yourself taking about something which is so precious to you.

Life, love and laughter,
Amanda

At Starfish, we have taken care of 138 children to date, arranged more than 165 surgeries and had 58 international adoptions, so our little starfishes live all over the globe: the US, Netherlands, Norway, France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Canada and in China.  Our latest adoption was to Utah, USA and it was completed on June 7, 2011,  We currently have 48 babies under the age of 3 and a half at the foster home.  We have 13 babies who are matched and we are waiting for their families to come and get them, so there will be a mass exodus in the summer.

We had two medical teams successfully completed 35 cleft lip and palate surgeries in April and May.  We are so proud of these teams and want to thank them so much for their efforts.  Our grateful thanks to the Xian Children's Hospital for being the venue and for working so well with these teams.

This is a wonderful interview allowing us insight into the lack of hope in China...thank you for the food of life and love you are sharing across cultures. I have two special needs daughters from China and it would be my prayer as well for them to have had the love shown to them that you have shown to so many little ones...and you have opened the eyes and hearts of many through your faithfulness.
