Norma Xi'an (Erica), "Xi Xi" Adoption 18: New York

Our very own Norma Xi'an (Erica) -- whose nickname is Xi'Xi-- has been chosen to be the poster child in New York City with YAI Network spokesperson Sherri Shepherd of ABC’s “The View”.  YAI is an organization that helps people with disabilities and is the agency that operates Xi'Xi's  school. Xi'Xi  will be doing her duties for the whole year.  There will be materials posted all over New York City as they gear up for their Central Park Challenge campaign on June 4th where they walk and run in order to change the lives of people with disabilities!

Xi'Xi has such a winning personality and I just loved watching her when I was in New York in the summer. She charms every one she meets. There were these gorgeous stain glass windows in their home and in the mornings Xi'Xi would chase the "rainbows" that the sun made when it shone through in the morning.  At that time, she also discovered her grandma's earrings. She was just too cute, wanting to wear them all day long. The girl can accessorize!! 

She is now walking without a walker and her gait so cute to watch, because she looks like a drunken sailor with an element of Charlie Chaplin in there.  I know how hard she worked to get to this point and I am so proud of her hard work. She has a Chinese housekeeper from Shanghai, who speaks Mandarin and Spanish with some English,   so Xi'Xi has been able to keep up her Chinese. I hear she is quite conversational and we will wait to hear the Spanish with a Chinese accent. The girl has the three most important languages in New York covered.

So the song holds true about Xi'Xi in New York:  If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.
