Michael Update February 2008

I heard from Michael's family and here is the letter. I am sure it is no secret that I love getting these kinds of updates. I love sharing what happens to our Starfish Alumni after they leave and how their lives change when they get to live with their families.

I am attaching some recent shots of Michael for you to see. One is of his first snow outing, which was about 2 weeks ago. We got him all dressed up in his gear, expecting him to go out and want back in the house in 20 seconds, but he loved it and cried after I brought him inside after 45 minutes of play. He was a trooper and wanted to stay outside in the snow, despite the cold. I also attached one of him helping me cook. When I cook dinner, I pull his little chair up to the counter and he has his own set of dishes and pots/pans and he helps me cook. He loves that. Speaking of cooking, we got him a kitchen set (something his speech therapist recommended for imaginative play) and he loves it!!! He makes us coffee in the morning and he loves answering his own phone. I also attached our family portrait, which we had done about 3 weeks ago and they are beautiful. We have hung several of them in the house and Michael often stops to point at them with a huge smile on his face. Michael eats so well and is eating lots of healthy food and we have seen a change in him since we have been home. He is growing taller day by day. He is a happy little guy and we are having so much fun with him! Our family and friends just love him to pieces, as do we.

Hope all is well,

Debbie

That is a beautiful family picture and I am so glad to hear that all is well with little Michael.

I have been thinking of you as I know that you are preparing for now for Antoinette's adoption. Big Hug.
