Leaving for Hangzhou and Breanna's Heart Surgery

It is the last minute and if it was not the last minute nothing would get done in this house. Anyway back to the reason for this letter: In two hours I am leaving to take Breanna to Hangzhou and to Dr Li for her heart surgery. I am so glad that she will finally get the chance to heal her little body. Thank you so much to April who worked so hard to raise the funds for Breanna. Your desire to help her was very touching to me and the fact that you encouraged so many people to make a donation. Breanna is too cute for words. Last night I gave her hair a little trim. She has got the thickest hair I have ever seen on a baby!!! Not only is is thick but it is pitch black. Her skin is like porcelain and so the combination of the two is startling. Gabriel got a hair cut too last night, his hair is almost brown. Mrs Liu said he looks like a foreigner. It was a good time to cut his hair because he was a little tired and so he sat very still as I worked on his giving him a boy cut. Besides all the other things I do I also cut hair. The nannies also line up to get their hair trimmed. There is a hairdresser coming to volunteer and she is going to have to teach me some pointers so I can do a better job. To the Emily fan Club: She is doing really well. The scar finally stopped oozing liquid. She is sitting up in the high chair and pushing out some teeth. She loves being in the jumper. When I come back from Hangzhou, I will organize the trek to Yulin to complete the adoption dossiers for six of the babies at Starfish. We travel for about 20 hours in order to have a 45 minute hospital appointment. I wish we did not have to do this, but that is what they need. At least it is not in the middle of winter, when the temperatures are minus 20 Celsius. I hope you will keep Breanna in your prayers for the next two weeks as she goes through her surgery and that you will also pray for my favorite man Dr Li, that he will do the surgery to the best of his ability and Dr Tan who is in charge of the SICU.

Life, Love and Laughter,
