Ana and Michael update

Here is some good news about Ana. Michael's family have written, too. They also sent some photos.

Ana has adjusted very well. She is VERY attached to me and I have the little pinch marks on my arms to prove it :~). We are struggling with sleeping.

She has a great personality and seems very happy. She definitely knows what she wants and we are trying to get her to start using some words. She eats well, but always only one thing on her plate, with seconds and thirds of that same thing.

Sophie has struggled far more than I anticipated. It started the second day we were home with lots of territorial issues especially with toys and Patrick and I. Three weeks later, things have really improved. They both liked each other's Christmas toys and we decided that they would all be for both of them to share and that has helped. Last night at dinner, Sophie said she loved Ana, which is a huge leap from all the "please take Ana back to China" stuff. We have a ways to go, but it gets better every day.

We watched part of the video we took at Starfish yesterday and Ana reached out her hand toward the screen when it showed her with the nannies. I know that she misses everyone and remembers all her friends there.

Please let everyone know that she is doing great and adjusting well.

All our best,
Jennifer

Here are some of Michael's Chrsitmas pictures. I just loved this first photo of him and as you can see from the next one, Santa did find him and he made up for last Christmas.

I love seeing the follow-up posts of the children in their new homes. It looks like Ana and Michael are going to have a great 2008. I hope that you do too Amanda.
