Amanda's Hand Surgery

Here are some pictures of Amanda and her casts for the surgery. I loved looking at her little face. When she came to me, she had this whole head of hair and she never lost it and I think it still looks so beautiful. Her hair cut is so much better than my hacking job I do in the bathroom, trying to cut a bob. Have you noticed all the girls have a similar hairstyle when they get hair? Amanda had surgery to separate two fingers on her right.

Surgery was March 19, she wore the white cast for 10 days, wow was it yucky when they took it off, we got it a little dirty with food and stuff. They took off the white cast, checked out all the stitches, very pleased, and then put her back in the pink cast for another 2 weeks to protect the hand in case she should fall...

She's doing great. No one told me a child waking up from anesthesia is one of the worst ever. I tried every trick in the book and just could not console her. I think the head nurse either took pity on us or just wanted us off her floor so she sent us home after about 3 hours of crying. Once we were in the car, Amanda was ok. She got a 1000 percent better each day. I'm so amazed at how resilient they are. The cast doesn't seem to bother her at all.

Love and laughter,
