It is 12:30 and Nina is out of the OR and everything went well. They took her in at 11am and 40 minutes later the major surgery was done. This doctor is really fast and efficient. It took a little longer to do the suturing and wake her up and she is already in her crib sleeping. I am so grateful for the skills that people have spent a long time acquiring that allows this kind of miracle. Dr Farhan, Nina's neurologist from Xian, took some pictures during the procedure so I can send those later, if you want to see the details. Dr. Farhan is from Pakistan and is a medical student in Xian at one of the best medical universities in China. He is also the only Christian Pakistani that I know. He was really helpful as I was preparing to bring Nina to Shanghai.
Nina was so still when they wheeled her away. She surprised me. She is normally so active and likes moving around. She was just lying there quietly sucking on her pacifier.
Thanks for all you concern and prayers.
Love and laughter,
Amanda
