Michael has a Gotcha day!!!

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had some news to share. Well, here is half of it. Michael is going to be the first child of John and Debbie and they will here within the next fortnight to pick him up. Michael will be keeping his name and adding John. We are so exited for this adoption coming so close after Angel/Ana. As you can imagine there is a lot of preparation that goes into this from both sides. We are so happy that our prayers and those of adoptive families are being answered. We have also submitted Rose, Cailean, Christopher and Erica finding ad pictures which will go into the newspaper for two months. We have to travel to Yulin for Rebecca and Danielle adoption medicals next week. On top of that, I was at the big O yesterday and I found three spina bifida babies in the infant room to take care of. We will go and get them soon. I do want to keep Dr Bao busy. Yulin also have a heart baby for me and so Dr Li will not be neglected. I love knowing I have access to such good medical care. Any way, back to Michael, here is a letter for you to read from his parents.

Our trip to China will soon be here, as our agency says we could be leaving in one week. After a long two year wait, this is music to our ears! We started our adoption journey thinking we were going to adopt a little girl, until the day we found Michael on our agency's waiting children list. When we first saw Michael's picture, something about him jumped out and grabbed our hearts and wouldn't let go. He had a certain gleam in his eyes and a cute little smirk on his face and we were hooked! From the moment we saw his picture, we knew he was meant to be our son. We had never felt this way about any other child we had seen, so we knew he was special. Once we received the letter of acceptance from China, our agency told us he was in the Starfish home and that night, we spent 5 hours online reading your blog to get every detail possible about Michael and the Starfish home. This has been an absolutely amazing experience so far and we know that it is about to get even better once we have Michael in our arms. We are so very, very thankful for everything you have done for Michael and all of the starfish. We prayed every night for two years that there would be someone to love and care for our child while he was waiting to be adopted and Amanda- you came true!!"

Praise the Lord, our Michael is coming home! I can't wait to hold him in my arms and give him at least a hundred kisses. We have waited so long for our precious angel to be a part of our family. His mom and dad, Debbie and John have so much love in their hearts to give. They are kind and loving and Michael will be very blessed to be their son. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Amanda and everyone who have taken such good care of him. Thank you and may God bless you, all the other children, and all the wonderful work that you do at Starfish home. All my love, Michael's Grammy

Debbie is my best friend and my neighbor. I have been with her since day one of this adoption process. It has been an incredible amount of ups and downs. The Frentzens are amazingly strong people and they remained positive at times when things seemed very bleak. How grateful I am to be be a part of this special time when Michael will be home (before month end!) Throughout their 2 year wait, Deb and John have read everything they could get their hands on to prepare them for parenthood, and how to make the coming home transition as easy as possible for their little boy. Not only are they prepared for parenting, they are going to have FUN with it. I saw the videos of that little cutie pie dancing, and you can bet that his mommy and daddy will be up dancing along with him. Kids are naturally drawn to Deb and John's sweet and caring demeanor. They just have a knack for getting down to a childs level and connecting with them. I guess they are kids at heart. That is why I love them both and why I can't wait for them to experience the joy that comes with loving and being loved by a sweet baby boy. Everyone on our block is awaiting Michael's arrival home. He has an entire community of loving folks awaiting him. Much Love! Michael's Auntie J
